My Son Sanctuary is located in Duy Phu commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province, about 70km from Da Nang city to the southwest. My Son Sanctuary is located in a circular valley, about 2km in diameter, surrounded by hills and mountains. Champa Kingdom from its founding to the end (1471) had 14 dynasties with 78 kings. My Son is the main holy capital of Champa kingdom. After every king crowned, he went to My Son to perform the baptism ceremony, offer offerings and build a temple. Therefore, My Son is the only point of Champa art that has a continuous development process for seven centuries (7th to 13th centuries). My Son Sanctuary has about 70 ruins. It was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1999.
