Continue to the North of Da Nang City, you will go over Hai Van Pass – Sea Cloudy Pass with 20km of length. This pass is natural border between Thua Thien Hue Province and Da Nang City. This is a very famous sightseeing on the way from Hoi An to Hue. Let’s make a stop at the top of the pass to enjoy panorama view of Da Nang City from 500m above sea level. Today, on the top of Hai Van pass, there are still traces of a gate. This gate is called “Hai Van Quan”, built in the Tran Dynasty and restored in the Nguyen Dynasty (under the rein of Minh Mang Emperor , 1826). In addition, at the top of Hai Van, there are still a few bunkers (the ruins of Don Nhat) built by the French army in 1926 to protect this strategic pass. After that post was transferred to the US military. During the two wars of resistance against the French and the Vietnam War, Hai Van Pass was the place where many rage battles happen.

Depart to Hue City. On the way, we can take a short rest at Lap An Lagoon. At this rest stop, you can enjoy the beautiful view of Lap An Lagoon, free your feet by walking on sand islet and drink a cup of Vietnamese coffee before heading to Hue City.
